TEAMS: WE COULDN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOU!

Participating in the Susan G. Komen Central Texas Affiliate Race for the Cure® with a team multiplies the fun, the laughter and maybe even the tears that you share on Race Day.  Together, with your friends, family and co-workers, you make an even greater impact than you could alone.

WHAT IS A TEAM?

A team is a group of at least 10 people who register as teammates for the Race. Online and paper registration will be available May 1st. When using paper registration, make sure to include your team name and return paper forms to your captain. While paper registrations are available, we strongly encourage online registration.

CREATING A TEAM?

 Before your team registers, your group should:

• Select the Team Captain — The Team Captain is responsible for all team communication and organization — handling everything from picking up materials (t-shirts, bibs, etc.) to where the team will meet on Race Day.
• Select a team name — Pick a name that best fits your group. Choose an alternate in case there’s already a Race team with your first name choice.

Once you’ve got a captain and a name:

• Register the team — Have the Team Captain register the team. She/he will be responsible for maintaining the team page, which can be customized to show your team goal and fundraising progress.
• Register team members — Every team member has to register using the “Join an Existing Team” link at the bottom of this page or on the registration page.
• Remind team members of the importance of fundraising — Encourage team members to take the Power of 10 Pledge – asking 10 people to donate $10.   Seventy-five cents of each dollar raised stays right here on the South Plains – funding grants to local breast health organizations that are on the front lines of the fight against breast cancer.

TEAM DEADLINES

Early Team Registration ($30) - Through September 17th at noon

Late Team Registration ($35) - Begins September 18th

Individuals can register online through September 30th at midnight.  Race Day registration is $35.

Packet Mailing

All participants who register online BEFORE September 17th at Noon will receive their packet via mail at no extra charge!

Team Packet Pickup – Team Captains - Saturday, September 24th 10am – 5pm

If you register online BEFORE Thursday, September 17th at Noon, your shirt will be mailed to you.  It will be your team captain’s responsibility to pick up all of your team’s materials for those participants who register via mail, after the online mailing cut-off or at the mall.
