In 2008, Susan G. Komen for the Cure celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Komen Race for the Cure, the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world, with well over 1 million participants since 2005.
The Komen Race for the Cure Series raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship, and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.
This is a great event for all ages and fitness levels. There's a competitve 5K race, a scenic 5K walk, a one mile run or walk, and children's fun runs. And for those of you that just "don't do mornings" you can join us in spirit and Sleep in for the Cure.
Enjoy a festival in the park with our generous sponsors and the breast cancer survivors' celebration. During the
celebration, survivors will march to the stage with their pink shirts and caps in celebration of life. It's a fun-filled morning!
Up to 75% of the net Race income stays in our local community to fund breast health education and breast cancer
screening and treatment projects. A minimum of 25% of the net Race income supports the Komen for the Cure Award and Research Grant Programs.
